Importing members from another system

Upload one CSV at a time. Members come from any listed system or a spreadsheet; Mindbody reports also bring classes and attendance.

What Kyndra can import

Import members from Mindbody, Vagaro, GlossGenius, Jackrabbit, Momence, Arketa, WellnessLiving, Glofox, Mariana Tek, Zen Planner, PushPress, Pike13, TeamUp, Boulevard, Fresha, Acuity Scheduling, Square, or generic CSV. Mindbody also imports classes, attendance, and class packs. Billing, memberships, and balances are rebuilt fresh in Kyndra.

Kyndra recognises each system's export, so you do not rename columns. A spreadsheet works when it has a header row and one person per line; when Kyndra cannot place a name column and at least 2 other columns, you pick the fields yourself. Classes and attendance come only from Mindbody's Class List and Visit History reports, so from any other system you add your classes on Schedule.

The path

In Kyndra, open Members (Students or Clients at some studios) and choose Import. Upload one file at a time.

  1. Upload. Drop the CSV. Kyndra works out which system and which report it came from, and asks you to confirm when it cannot tell.
  2. Map Fields. For a member file, Kyndra skips this step when it has placed a name column and at least 2 other columns. Otherwise you pick the Kyndra field for each column. A column with no field is left out. Mindbody class and visit reports skip this step.
  3. Preview. How many records will be created, a sample of rows as Kyndra will save them, warnings across the whole file including rows that will be skipped, and any columns left out. Nothing is saved yet.
  4. Import. Confirm, and the rows are written.
  5. Done. A receipt of what came over, who was already in Kyndra, and what could not be placed. Rows that could not be placed download as a CSV, so you can fix them and upload that file again.

What about Mindbody's $500 export fee?

You don't need the paid Subscriber Data Export for a working roster. The free reports are the files Kyndra reads: under Insights → Reports, the Mailing Lists report filtered to Email List, then Class List (or Class Schedule) and Visit History. Mindbody exports them to Excel; save each as CSV before you upload it. Date of birth and emergency contacts only come across from the paid export. Full walkthrough: migrate from Mindbody.

What doesn't come across

  • Saved card on file. Members re-authorize their card once through your portal. Payment processors don't let any platform hand off vaulted cards.
  • Auto-pays. You set tuition plans and memberships up fresh in Kyndra. Class packs come across from the Pricing Options report. This is usually a good moment to simplify.
  • Signed waivers and attached files. Set your waiver up under Settings → Documents & waivers, and members accept it again in Kyndra.

Running two platforms in parallel

Most studios do this for two to four weeks. Move members to Kyndra as they rebill, cancel the old platform when the last subscription expires. There's no rule against running both — and Kyndra never touches the old platform's data.
